What I Do
I am currently working as a Senior Software Engineer & Team Lead with a strong focus on backend-heavy, cloud-native software systems. My primary expertise lies in Java, Spring Boot, distributed systems, and secure API platforms. I also enjoy experimenting with Android development and Applied AI & Computer Vision (see more on my portfolio).
Self-Hosting & Homelab
I am passionate about home self-hosted solutions. I like to tinker with Synology NAS, custom-built NAS with Proxmox, and TrueNAS. Running my own infrastructure keeps me sharp on networking, containerization, and system administration.
Music & Guitar
Music is one of my great loves. My tastes span Metal, Rock, Pop, and everything in between. I am an avid vinyl and CD collector— my physical collection is cataloged on Discogs. I discover new music on Spotify and SoundCloud. I am also learning to play the guitar, and my favorite guitarist and inspiration is Randy Rhoads!
Language & Culture
I am studying Japanese, and Duolingo assists and solidifies my learning along the way. I hope to one day visit Japan to explore its many fascinating places, culture, and food. Studying a new language has given me a deeper appreciation for different cultures and ways of thinking.
Continuous Learning
I aim to stay up-to-date with the latest tech trends and programming techniques. Whether it is a new framework, a design pattern, or a cloud service, I enjoy the process of learning and applying new knowledge to solve problems.
